Music is an essential part of life and worship – it is something that enriches our lives every day in all kinds of ways. It is something we hear and sing when we gather together to worship God; it has the capacity to move and inspire us and it can connect us to God in unique ways. The Spirit draws us closer to music, but also moves us to respond and worship God through music.
The volunteer Church choir gathers to sing to the glory of God, led by our wonderful and very talented organist/pianist David Gould, every Sunday morning.
After some incredible fundraising efforts by the congregation, a Wicks organ, with chimes, was installed in 1983 to the tune of $50,000 (no pun intended) and has been played in worship services ever since.
In addition to the organ, Knox also has a wonderful piano that gets regularly used as well. A number of congregational members play different instruments too, including the Saxophone and banjo! Songs are drawn from hymnals, while others are more contemporary.
Some songs are chosen for upcoming Sundays and special days in the Church calendar, while others are sung simply for enjoyment.
We would love for you to join us, so if you’d like some more information on the music ministry, you can send an e-mail to info@knoxgrandvalley.com or better yet simply come to Sunday morning worship and enter the sanctuary!
